Growing up as a third-culture kid with passports from the United States, Japan, and Italy, I developed a love for aviation and a fascination with different cultures. This background gives me a special appreciation for diversity and inspires me to see as much of the world as possible. I’ve been privileged to travel to 65 countries and counting, often leveraging points and miles to improve my travel experience.
Over the years, I’ve contributed to numerous websites while sharing my travel experiences through various channels. Now, I’m bringing it all together. Together with an awesome team of contributors, Travel Spill will bring you the latest travel news, reviews, and guides to destinations and travel loyalty programs.

Giovanni Hashimoto is editor of Travel Spill. He’s a growth hacking consultant and an expert in maximizing credit card rewards and loyalty programs. Giovanni grew up as a third-culture kid with passports from the United States, Japan, and Italy, he’s now a digital nomad who’s visited over 65 countries, often leveraging points and miles to improve his travel experience.
Samanta Vaivade
Samanta Vaivade manages Travel Spill’s social media. A digital marketing expert and a full-time digital nomad, she’s a graduate of the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands and a native of Riga, Latvia. Samanta first caught the travel bug after spending a full year on exchange in Argentina during high school. Since then, she’s visited over 30 countries enjoying a mix of premium and value travel. Samanta is fluent in English, Latvian, Russian, and Spanish.
Jacob Cohen
Jacob Cohen is a contributor to Travel Spill, specializing in kosher and Jewish interest travel. Based in NYC, he is a compliance professional in the financial services industry and deeply skilled in maximizing loyalty programs. Jacob was raised in Chicago, with several summers spent in Israel, and has visited over 30 countries and territories across 4 continents. Frances Benaglia
Frances Benaglia is an Italian-American native of Milan, Italy. After earning her degree from Bocconi University during which she did an ERASMUS exchange in Stockholm, she embarked on a journey of discovery and took a gap year to travel to over 20 countries. She’s now a management consultant and is known for her meticulous planning research skills, making the most of her time off by finding the perfect places to unwind and relax.
